The comprehensive full-scale automated online radiation monitoring system (RMS) to monitor various types of radiation parameters. Other 200 PELIKAN systems already installed in all kinds of nuclear facilities in Russia and other the world.
The largest system consists of 500 measuring channels on the field level with online data transfer to upper level control system.

Purpose:

  • Continuous measuring of radiation parameters such as: ambient dose equivalent rate for Gamma and Neutron radiation; volumetric activity of alpha- and beta emitting aerosols; volumetric activity of beta emitting gases; volumetric activity of gamma emitting nuclides of Iodine; volumetric activity of gamma emitting nuclides in liquids, vapors and pulps in the pipelines and reservoirs of nuclear power plants and other nuclear-related facilities with a potential radiation hazard.
  • Condition monitoring of radiation related systems and equipment: process instrumentation, protective barriers, pipelines, leak-tightness systems, effluent and wastewaters, air filtration, etc.
  • Early detection of emergency situations and immediate personnel notification of radiation hazard, equipment shutdown or leakage of radioactive materials.

Features:

  • Wide range of the field instrumentation and configurable upper level software allow a bespoke design according to customers’ needs. 
  • The PELIKAN system is built on the principles of DCS (distributed control system). It means the system continues its operation in case of a failure of any part or a measuring channel. This also ensures a "hot swap" of a broken unit and calibration of the field instrumentation (radiation detectors) without the whole system shut down.
  • Information network capabilities: main and redundant servers; operator workstations with graphical screens, current and historical data, configurable alarms and triggers; integration with upper level DCS and third party systems.
  • The system is duly certified and suitable for severe duty conditions at nuclear power plants in all climatic and seismic regions.
