Dosimeter-radiometer MKS-17D: new features


The multifunctional innovative Dosimeter-Radiometer MKS-17D has expanded its capabilities due to a new neutron detector unit.

The up-to-date Dosimeter-Radiometer MKS-17D, having replaceable detector units and possibility of wireless communication with PC and the units, was put into serial production in 2020. For a short period of time it has proved to be a convenient and reliable radiation monitoring device. Now SPC Doza is starting to produce a new detector unit BDKN-R5D of measurement of ambient dose equivalent rate (ADER) and ambient dose equivalent (ADE) for neutron radiation.

To register neutrons, in BDKN-R5D there are scintillation detectors of SPC Dozas own production. They provide high measurement sensitivity and accuracy.

In an indication mode of ambient dose equivalent rate the display shows a value of average ADER and value of statistical uncertainty, from 1 to 99%. The measurement result is also displayed on an analogue logarithmic scale, graduated in Sv/h, on which the mark of ADER maximum value is indicated from the moment of turning on. Display update period in this mode is 2 seconds. When switching to a dose (ADE) indication mode, you can see a dose accumulated since the units turn-on or its last reset, as well as dose accumulation time, in hours.
