The new detection unit BDPN-100, designed to measure intermediate neutron flux was developed as part of activities under the contract for supply of radiation monitoring system for the universal nuclear-powered ice-breaker of Project 22220. Design and specifications of the unit were developed taking into account its application at ships with nuclear propulsion. The unit consists of a thermal neutron detection module placed inside a shielding of moderator material.
