Radiation control on Rossita vessel
On July, 15 the Italian city La Spezia saw the signing of official records concerning Rosatomflot acceptance of the “Rossita” vessel, intended for transportation of the reject nuclear fuel and utilized atomic submarines material from the former Russian Navy land bases on the North-East of Russia. The vessel has been built at the Muggiano-La Spezia-based Fincantieri shipyard, Italy. Rossita is the multi-vessel container of ice-class intended for maintenance in difficult arctic conditions. The length of the vessel is 84 meters; the width is 14 meters. It has two isolated cargo holds with total capacity of 720 tonnes with maximum speed 12 knots and it can autonomous sailing capacity is 3000 nautical miles. Radiation control on the vessel is provided both by the computer-based multi-channel system and by the devices of individual and group radiation control. The suppliers of radiation control equipment for the Rossita are SPC Doza and Canberra. On July, 30 Rossita sailed from the Italian port La Spezia to the home port in Murmansk.
