The testing was aimed at checking usability and determining performance capabilities of the UDI-1B monitor under industrial conditions. Testing the UDI-1B monitor with SKT-3 sorbents and FPUA-70-7.0 sorbing – filtering materials, developed at the L.Ya. Karpov Institute of Physical Chemistry, were performed in hot domes at the Institute branch (Obninsk).
Conclusions made from the testing results are as follows:
the UDI-1B monitor with SKT-3 sorbents and FPUA-70-7.0 sorbing – filtering materials can be used as a measuring instrument for monitoring iodine radionuclide contents in the air of production areas and ventilating systems under real working conditions.
Resolution and registration efficiency of the monitor ensures a safe registration of different iodine forms incoming into the ventilation system of a nuclear reactor.
